Keep It Clean Georgia

In October 2020, GDOT launched Keep It Clean Georgia, an anti-litter campaign encouraging Georgians to avoid littering and play an active role in maintaining and protecting the state's stunning landscapes.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, BCW worked with GDOT on a digital-first approach for the campaign launch, including designing the website with original print and visual content, as well as a Digital Partner Toolkit to further spread the campaign's message.

Through strategic partnership with the Adopt-A-Highway team, GDOT and BCW collaborated on reimagining existing “Clean Georgia” sponsored roadway signs to depict the Keep It Clean Georgia logo, further promoting the campaign statewide. As of February 2022, the new “Keep It Clean Georgia” road signs began appearing alongside Georgia roadways, with plans for hundreds more to continue rolling out throughout 2022 and beyond.

GDOT also collaborated with Georgia Economic Development’s Film Division to launch a video PSA featuring Colton Ryan, star of Hulu’s hit series Girl from Plainville (filmed in Savannah, GA), reminding viewers to end litter. The PSA, showcasing Georgia's stunning views and imagery, was shared across social channels and the Keep It Clean Georgia website. Georgia Economic Development also graciously provided all of the photos used across the campaign.

By bringing separate but similarly-focused programs together under the Keep It Clean Georgia brand, the campaign continues to grow awareness and impact, reinforcing GDOT’s commitment to keeping the state clean. We don’t litter here, and we’re making that known.
